Question #5: It was common in England for noble families to have jesters and fools to keep the noblemen entertained. We know that Olivia is of high social status, so it would the make sense that there is a Fool hanging around the manor.

ReplyDelete5. I believe the fool was originally her brother's, and when he died, Olivia kept him around because he was the only one who understood the loss, and kept her on her toes enough to distract her.
